Vehicle Parking Decals

Beginning May 1, 2009, if your vehicle is not in compliance, your car will receive a warning sticker that it will be towed, at your expense, in 10 days if it is still out of compliance.

Vehicles without current registration and inspection, and vehicles with flat tires or broken windows, are not allowed on the property and will need to be remedied or the vehicle will be removed by the tow company.

Over the past few years, one of the most frequent complaints we hear concerns parking. One of the challenges we face at the Woods are vehicles that are improperly parked, broken down, or abandoned on the property, as well as vehicles without proper inspection and licensing. In addition to being an eyesore, the police confirm that broken down cars invite crime.

The management company has also been receiving complaints about people parking in a reserved space that does not belong to their unit. To remedy this problem, each resident will be issued a decal with their corresponding parking space. This decal will enable the management company and towing comapny to determine which vehicles belong on property and which ones do not. This decal must be placed on the lower left or right hand side of the rear window.

All cars must be parked head-in for reserved parking so that the tow company can clearly see the parking decal. We recently reapplied the numbers on all of the parking spaces so they are easily visible. The reserved parking assignments are included in this letter. Please make sure you always park your vehicle in the reserved space assigned to your vehicle.

Owners of one-bedroom units will receive one decal. Owners of two-bedroom units will receive two decals.

Any vehicle parked in a non-reserved space for more than 48 hours will be tagged with a warning sticker. If the vehicle is still on the property after 10 days, it will be towed at the owner’s expense. If you have a guest that will be parking their vehicle on property for more than 48 hours, you should contact our property manager by completing a Maintenance Request on the website and register that vehicle as to how long the vehicle will be on property

Please note, in the past some residents were under the impression that their vehicle could violate the rules of being in full legal compliance, or be broken down, and would not be subject to towing or fines as long as the vehicle was parked in their reserved covered parking space. While this was true in 1982 when the complex was first built, in 1998, a resolution was added to our By-Laws that eliminated that loophole. This resolution was sent to all the owners at that time and filed with the county on August 26, 1998, and since then has been part of the official document and by-laws.

Thank you for your cooperation.
